Albums

The discography of American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, 4 live albums, and numerous compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band did sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs album from 1975 Silk Degrees. The group’s collaboration led to formation of Toto in 1976.

Toto’s third album, Turn Back, marked a change from the more progressive sound of their previous albums and was criticized for the lack of hit singles. In 1985, the group’s lead singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned The band held auditions to find a new frontman. The band selected guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in the year 1986.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set titled Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour and an interview with the band.
